Driven to help cancer patients

HE IS a man on a mission and he's making his presence known around the country.

Brisbane business man Ron 'Hippo' Hippisley tore through Warwick on his Harley at rodeo time in a quest to raise money to build accommodation close to cancer treatment centres for adult cancer patients and their families to use when having to travel for treatment.

After losing his wife to cancer in 2008, he was made aware of the accommodation shortages, and wanted to do something about it.

With his first fundraising initiative being a solo Harley Davidson ride throughout Australia, Hippo and his support team are currently a little over six months into their seven month Queensland leg of the ride.

To donate to Hippo's ride, look out for money boxes at various businesses around town or donate online to Westpac BSB 034-219, acc: 280823.
