Driver in Clifton crash may have been asleep: police

POLICE believe the driver of a car that rolled on Gatton-Clifton Rd may have been fallen asleep behind the wheel.

The crash happened on the stretch of road, not far from the New England Hwy turn off, on Thursday afternoon.

Clifton police Acting Senior Constable Tylarr Colman said a five-year-old girl in the back seat was unharmed.

"It appears the driven has fallen asleep, gone off the road and rolled the vehicle," he said.

The driver suffered bruised and fractured ribs in the crash.

Investigations are continuing.
