Driver injured as truck and train collide

A 41-YEAR-old truck driver was hurt when his Kenworth collided with a train at 3.05am today.

The accident happened on a level crossing at Whetstone, between Inglewood and Yelarbon.

Inglewood Police are still investigating but it is believed the truck failed to stop at the flashing lights.

A few wagons on the train were derailed and the Cunningham Hwy was closed for about six hours.

The Victorian driver was taken to Inglewood hospital.
