Drivers injured in two vehicle crash on Cunningham Hwy

TWO people have been injured in a two-vehicle crash which has closed the Cunningham Hwy.

RACQ CareFlight is on scene and preparing to transport from the crash about 20km west of Warwick on the Cunningham Hwy.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, police and ambulance crews are at the scene.

A QFES spokeswoman said CareFlight landed about 3pm.

One person was in each of the vehicles but neither were trapped, she said.

 

Once on scene the medical team assisted the QAS in treating three patients two females and one male suffering a combination of injuries.

A husband and wife had been traveling in one of the vehicles, the female suffering head, spinal and abdominal injuries and was in a critical condition.

The male suffered chest injuries in the accident and was in a stable condition.


Both were flown to the PA Hospital for further specialised treatment.

The third patient was road transported to Warwick Hospital by the QAS.
