Drop off needed to determine grand finalist in touch
TOUCH: Blake Lollback scored the final two tries as Live Action beat Benchwarmers in the Warwick Touch Association preliminary final last Wednesday night.
Live Action will now play Brownlie's Metre Eaters in the A-grade grand final at the touch fields on Wednesday night.
Seline Fallon played touch while at university and was now in Warwick in a role as a speech pathlogist.
Benchwarmers led 3-2 at halftime before Fallon scored to level the scores in the second half.
Another try put Benchwarmers in front but Lollback scored in the south-east corner with two minutes of play remaining to again level the scores.
Fallon said when the siren sounded, her team received a penalty.
"The heart was really pumping then but after taking the penalty the ball went to ground,” she said.
Each team was reduced to three in the drop off to determine the winner and each dropped the ball in their first set.
It was then that Lollback ran behind Ty Gardner to get the perfect pass to score the winning try for a 5-4 win.
He crossed the line in the south-western corner of the ground but ran the ball closer to the middle before a dive which resembled some of the best by rugby league wingers.
All grand finals will be on Wednesday night.
B and D grade games will be at 6.30pm and A, C and E grades at 7.30pm.
All games will be on the touch fields except E grade which will be on Eastern Suburbs field.
