Yvonne breaks dart drought
AFTER 35 years of playing darts, Warwick Darts Association Premier rep team member Yvonne Carmody had never won an Adam and Eve tournament in South West Queensland Darts.
After 2014, her 36th year, Carmody has now won four.
Carmody was part of the Warwick Darts Association team that won all four Adam and Eve tournaments in Division 3 of South West Queensland Darts, possibly the first time the feat has been achieved.
"As far as I know it's never been done before," Carmody said.
"I'll possibly retire in the near future so it'll be a great way to go out if I do.
"It's a dream come true."
Carmody said she had a feeling this would be the year to win her first Adam and Eve tournament.
"I felt like we had a stronger team coming into the year," she said.
"I felt like our men's team was stronger than in previous years."
The team will now move into Division 2 next year, when the next Adam and Eve tournament comes around in February.
"It'll be a challenge, going up a division," fellow team member Kathleen Martin said. "But we like a challenge and we're looking forward to testing ourselves in the next division."
