Inglewood drug hearing not over

THREE people charged over a $500 billion cannabis bust near Inglewood last July will re-appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court in October.

Michael Bennett Gardner senior, 55, Michael Bennett Gardner junior, 29, and Rosemary Gardner, 31, appeared in court last week for a committal hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence for them to stand trial.

The hearing ran until Friday and will re-commence on October 26.

Gardner Snr was remanded in custody, while Gardner Jnr and Rosemary Gardner were released on bail until their next appearance.

Sex abuse trial begins

A TRIAL in the Warwick District Court of a man charged with the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 in his care will continue today.

Jurors were chosen yesterday morning and later heard evidence from prosecution witnesses as well as video evidence involving the female complainant. The defendant cannot be named under Queensland law.
