Win proves a bore for goalie Fitch
GOALIE Kerri Fitch only had one shot at goal to save in her side’s President’s Cup victory in Toowoomba A2 hockey on Sunday.
Fitch saved the shot as a Past High side, including seven Warwick players, won 4-0.
“The strong defence of our side minimises the shots at goal by the opposition,” Fitch said.
“Everyone played well in the final; I now want to win grand finals for Past High in A2 and Warwick in A3.”
Past High led 3-0 at half-time. Brianna Miller scored a double for the winners.
On Friday night, Past High won 5-0 in A2 and on Saturday night, Warwick won 7-1 in A3.
Fitch played one of her four games of hockey for the weekend for Saints in Warwick mixed club hockey on Saturday at Queen’s Park and scored two goals in a 4-all draw with Corinthians.
