Dual wins for Grayson in APRA rodeo

RODEO: Swanfels rider Lane Grayson has won both saddle bronc rides at Carrieton in South Australia at the start of the Christmas Run in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.

After a second-division win at Mt Isa and a second in Warwick this year, Grayson is competing in four states over the holiday period.

He won the open saddle bronc at Carrieton with a score of 74 from South Australian cowboy David Stacey.

New South Wales rider Tim Hammond was third and Warwick competitor Peel Tribe fourth.

Grayson also won second division.

Tribe made it two placings in two rodeos with a third in the saddle bronc at Myrtleford in Victoria with a score of 77, four behind winner and current APRA titleholder Brad Pierce.

While Grayson headed home for rodeos over the New Year's weekend in Queensland, he plans to compete down south in the January 8-9 rodeos in the APRA.

Rodeos are at Finley (NSW), Beechworth (Victoria) and Carrick (Tasmania) this weekend, the final three on the Christmas Run.
