Warwick drink driving cases on the rise

A STRING of drink driving and drug possession offences in the Southern Downs have police on the alert.

A 37-year-old Warwick man was intercepted on Wallace St at 7.15am on Wednesday last week and issued with a notice to appear for drink driving after blowing .091.

A 46-year old Brisbane man was intercepted on the New England Highway near Leslie Dam for speeding and issued a notice to appear for drink driving.

A 46-year-old man from Toowoomba was intercepted by police on Wallace St and issued with a notice to appear for drink driving, initially blowing .103.

Later that morning police intercepted the same offender in Pratten St where he was issued with a notice to appear for driving while suspended and drink driving with a BAC of .086.

At 5.30pm on March 18, police conducting traffic control on Alexandra Dr clocked a 45-year-old male motorcycle rider at 105kmh in a 60 zone.

The man from New South Wales was issued a high speed infringement notice.

A search warrant carried out at an address in Acacia Ave resulted in a 31-year-old Warwick woman being issued a notice to appear for producing and possessing a dangerous drug and possessing drug utensils.
