Eagerness for a trade gets Busy

WARWICK residents are flooding through the doors of Busy at Work, applying for apprenticeships and traineeships like it is going out of fashion.

Donna Howard from Busy at Work said she had been inundated with sign-ups and it was great to see people making positive career decisions.

"(It's been) very busy so far for January, I have completed 30 sign-ups already this month and expect to do around 50 for January," Ms Howard said.

"I have had a bulk sign-up at a Granite Belt Fruit Freighters and most were signed up into the Diploma of Logistics," she said.

"All other sign-ups for the month will be pretty much across the board, engineering technicians, civil construction, horticulture, electrician, fitness instructor, aged care, agriculture, just to start."

Sue Ferguson from Curves has taken on a trainee, Bonnie Flood, who will complete her Certificate III in fitness while there.

Ms Ferguson said she was extremely excited to have her on board.

"We look forward to the challenge and giving a young girl an opportunity," she said.
