Eighty one horses for Warwick RSL Memorial Club Races

RACING There are 81 nominations for the Warwick RSL Memorial Club Race Meeting at the Warwick Turf Club track at Allman Park on Saturday.

To 2pm today, the official rainfall recording for Warwick was 60.8mm in the 18 hours since the rain started at around 8pm last night.

There are 23 nominations for the Warwick RSL Memorial Club Long Tan Cup BenchMark 65 Handicap including last year's winner Turbo Teddy. The cup race has been split into two this year.

As has been the case at Warwick RSL race meetings down the years, all club members will be admitted free to the meeting.

At this stage, the meeting is still officially on despite the rain. The track is currently rated as a soft 6.

There are between 11 and 17 runners for each race.

All races are sponsored by the Warwick RSL Memorial Club and there are two maidens over 1100m and 1350m, a BenchMark 50 over 1200m, a BenchMark 55 over 1500m and two BenchMark 65 races for the cup.

Former Leyburn jockey Paul Hamblin has three rides already on the day. Hamblin has predominately ridden in jumps racing down south in the past decade but loves the chance to race in his home area.
