Elderly woman taken to hospital after catching hand in mixer

UPDATE: A WOMAN in her 80s has been taken to hospital after getting her hand caught in a food mixer at a Warwick home.

Ambulance and fire crews managed to release the woman's hand from the kitchen appliance shortly after arriving on scene.

The woman has been taken to Warwick Hospital in a stable condition.

The full extent of her injuries is unknown at this stage.

 

10:40AM: AMBULANCE crews are racing to a home in Warwick where an elderly woman has reportedly caught her hand in a kitchen appliance.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman is in her early 80s.

Initial reports suggest the kitchen appliance is a food mixer.

Fire crews have also been called to the scene to assist.

The extent of the woman's injuries are unknown.
