Elderly driver busted doing 95km/h in 60 zone

AN ELDERLY woman has been busted doing 35km/h over the speed limit at the notorious Eight Mile intersection near Warwick.

The 75-year-old pensioner from Laidley was among six drivers found speeding at the intersection.

Senior Constable Matt Shield said the woman was fined $549 and lost six points.

"The typical excuse we're hearing is 'I didn't see any signs," he said.

"This means drivers aren't paying any attention."

Snr Const Shield said police were ramping up patrols at the intersection ahead of the Easter break.
