Elderly woman in hospital after losing control of car

AN ELDERLY Warwick woman was taken to Warwick Hospital with minor injuries yesterday afternoon after her car crashed into an empty shop on Fitzroy St.

A Warwick police spokesman said the driver of the car left Aldi shopping centre and turned right onto Fitzroy St, but something had gone wrong with the car and she was unable to control it.

She then drove over a median strip and mounted the gutter and crashed into the wall of the former Work N Safe building.

Police are continuing their investigations into how the accident occurred.
