EMERGENCY SERVICES
ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk announced yesterday there would be an additional 100 firefighters added throughout areas of regional Queensland, as well as 12 fire-communications officers around the state.
The premier was in Rockhampton, where the $29.5m worth of funding for the positions.
MATURE FUNDING
A FURTHER $20m worth of funding has been promised by the Liberal Nationals to help mature-aged job seekers find meaningful employment.
NICHOLLS ATTACKS
OPPOSITION leader Tim Nicholls came out on the offensive, labelling Labor as "unstable" and "untrustworthy", reports News Regional and Victoria Nugent.
"We'll work with our fellow Queenslanders to make your lives better - more local jobs, cheaper electricity and the roads, bridges and dams we need," Mr Nicholls said.
BETTING
LIBERAL Nationals still remain favourites for Saturday's election at $1.75, ahead of Labor at $2 and One Nation at $26 with UBET.
The race for the Southern Downs is much more clear-cut according to bookies, with the Liberal Nationals at $1.11, One Nation at $5.50, Labor at $34 and the Greens at $51 with Ladbrokes.
