Ella's swim collects a record

ELLA Hudson set the only new record, in the 10 years 50m breaststroke, at the St Mary's Upper Primary School swimming carnival at WIRAC yesterday.

The carnival, for students in Years 4 to 7, was won by the red house, Rooney, which scored an overall win with 651 points from Kelly (Gold) on 501 and Potter (Blue) on 434.

Ten children won age championships outright but there were two ties for runners up.

Lily Stewart and Paris Milburn were equal on points in the 12 years girls' age group while Millie Hauff and Bronte Le Sueur each won a runner-up trophy in the 11 years age group.

Fun relays completed the carnival.

The carnival capped a fine fortnight for St Mary's swimming after Ella Hudson, Abby Grayson, Gillian Morris and Luke Hauff won a bronze medal in the junior mixed medley relay at the annual Queensland Primary School Swimming Relay Carnival at Chandler in Brisbane.

Other St Mary's teams to compete were Larissa Millard, Lily Stewart, Samantha McMahon, Millie Hauff (senior girls), and Michael Coleman, Will Dearden, Aden Howard and Darcy Bourke (senior boys).
