Ellen show winner dies in Aussie parachute jump

A US Marine has died in a parachuting accident after he won the chance to do it in Australia via The Ellen Show.

Cherilyn and her husband, Gunnery Sgt. Brandon McGraw, won a trip to Australia on Degeners' popular TV show, Ellen in January. They took the trip last week.

On Saturday, the couple went skydiving in the same plane in Euroa, about 100km north of Melbourne.

Cherilyn made a tandem jump, but Brandon was experienced and decided to jump solo.

Ian Matthews, who works at Euroa Skydive, told The Daily News that Brandon was an experienced skydiver with more than "a few jumps under his belt."
