English club coaches in Warwick next week

FOOTBALL: Academy coaches from one of the most recognised clubs in the world will be in Warwick for a three-day camp starting Monday.

Three West Bromwich Albion (WBA) Baggies Academy coaches will arrive in Warwick on Sunday for an ID camp which will focus on player development, as well as identification of players for a possible move into the WBA system.

The Baggies came 10th in English Premier League last season.

Warwick District Football Association will host the visit to Queens Park and 41 players from as far as Melbourne have registered.

The WBA academy coaches are Liam Wall, Lawrence Roberts and Adrian Dove.

Competitions co-ordinator Wall has been at WBA for nine years and his work abroad includes two trips to Nigeria and involvement in the Kanu Camp where elite development and talent ID is crucial.

Roberts has coached at the New York Red Bulls and in India and Dove has been a football development officer at WBA for 11 years.

Late camp nominations will be accepted from 9am Monday at Queens Park.

A coaches' and parents' night on Monday has drawn 30 registrations. For bookings, phone 0434211441.
