Zonta Warwick women set to inspire, motivate
THREE strong, successful, local women will inspire a crowd at next week's Zonta International Women's Day Breakfast.
The annual event will be held on March 5 at Warwick TAFE.
The usual tradition of one speaker at the event has changed this year with the theme of Three Women, Three Journeys.
The speakers - solicitor Rebecca Lancaster, youth development officer Hailey Cosh and policewoman Julie Hauff - are all recognised in their chosen fields and will bring a unique version of their own story to the breakfast.
While the ladies are still busily preparing their speeches for the event, Rebecca said she will discuss the encouragement she's always received from her family to pursue her ambitions.
"Even though sometimes they might seem more than I should take on, in the end the risks have been worth it," she said.
"I am hoping to inspire the younger guests to aim high.
"And for the more experienced, to support and encourage their own children."
Rebecca was born in Warwick and at 17 she moved to Brisbane to study.
"After eight years in Brisbane I decided to move back with my young family to join Maxwell Solicitors in 2010," she said.
At the beginning of 2013 Rebecca took over ownership of the law practice and as well as being a mother, having a full-time career she still finds time to be involved in the community.
Rebecca is currently the president of the Rotaract Club of Warwick.
Due to the popularity of the breakfast, tickets have already sold out.
Money raised at the breakfast will contribute to the Warwick Zonta Club's Annual Scholarship for young women and the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award.
