Photography workshop a snapping success after sun emerges

TWENTY members of the Allora Photography Group learnt how to snap, shoot and click with the best of them at the weekend.

The two-day photography workshop was with Danielle Lancaster and Sheryn Ellis from Tamborine Mountain-based Bluedog Photography.

The information-packed workshop was subsidised by a grant received from the Regional Arts Development Fund covering information on composition and understanding how to take creative control of the camera.

Thankfully the weather cleared enough on Saturday afternoon for members to use those skills to photograph a beautiful sunset.

Cloud cover prevented the planned star trail photography session, but fun was had by all with steel wool burning.

Sunday morning saw theoretical and practical exploration of portraiture.

Several excursions have been scheduled for practice of the skills learned, with the Allora State School to benefit from a planned exhibition of members' photographs.

The Allora Photography Group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Allora State School at 7pm. New members of all skill levels are welcome. Contact Linda Coombes on 4661 7565.
