WARWICK shoppers are entering a new era of Christmas shopping freedom.

This year, the Rose City has seen the introduction of Sunday trading, meaning more options and convenience.

Leading into the Christmas period, Rose City Shoppingworld has released its opening hours, which includes a couple of major firsts for Warwick.

Rose City Shoppingworld marketing manager Louise de Lissa said exciting times were ahead for Warwick shoppers.

"For the first time ever we'll be open on Boxing Day," she said.

"Thanks to seven-day trading Warwick shoppers will have their own chance for some Boxing Day sales.

"It will be up to the national stores as to what they do on the day, but most should follow the same marketing calendars as metro stores.

"Christmas Day will be the only day we're closed this holiday season."

Mrs de Lissa said Boxing Day would be an optional day for stores.

"We will certainly be encouraging all to stores to open up," she said.

"So it will be like a normal Sunday trading day."

The centre will also be open until midnight on Thursday, December 21.

Mrs de Lissa said the major store would remain open to offer shoppers yet another pre-Christmas shopping option.

"It's going to be a great fun period," she said.

"We've had another shop open today, with Pets Domain and there a couple more to hopefully open before Christmas as well."

A bakery, The Bread Factory and Kebabzone are both expected to open before Christmas.
