Exclusive: Supa IGA Warwick site to be expanded

BREAKING: A massive expansion of the Supa IGA Warwick site has been announced by the developers today.

The plan includes nine new retail speciality stores alongside the existing supermarket and 118 car parking spaces, as well as dozens of new jobs.

Powercat Developments, based in Stanthorpe, have told the Daily News they are seeking approval from the Southern Downs Regional Council for the expansion and intend to use local contractors.

Director Stephen Kay says it's hoped the new retail tenancies will include a coffee shop, takeaway outlets and other retail traders.

Around 820sqm of retail tenancies are planned.

Powercat is hopeful that once council approval is given construction would start in the second part of this year, with completion early in 2014.
