Banana family home destroyed by blaze
UPDATE 12.34PM: A BANANA family has been left devastated after a blaze destroyed their home this morning.
The Biloela CIB told a reporter from the Central Telegraph, which is linked to The Morning Bulletin, the Namgoori property home, owned by the Ballentine family, was completely destroyed.
Thankfully, no one was inside the home at the time as Mrs Ballentine was dropping the kids to school and Mr Ballentine was at the back of the property.
No one was injured.
Initial information suggested there was an explosion at the property, but police say no explosion occurred.
Detectives from the Biloela CIB will attend the residence this afternoon to investigate.
UPDATE 11.30AM: FIRE crews are still working to put out a fire which destroyed a Banana home this morning.
A Queensland Fire and Emergeny Services spokesman confirmed multiple crews were called to a Leichhardt Hwy address just after 9.30am following reports of an expolosion and/or burns and found the house well involved on arrival.
The spokesman said crews had the fire under control but were still putting it out and trying to determine what caused it.
He said no one was believed to have been in the home at the time.
INITIAL: EMERGENCY services are responding to reports of an explosion and/or burns at a business site in Central Queensland.
Reports indicate the business is located on the Liechhardt Highway at Banana.
It is believed the business is a resource consulting service named Namgoori.
