Extra race for Allora Cup meeting on Saturday
RACING: It is rare for a regular Warwick Turf Club meeting to have six races but that is the case on Saturday at Allman Park.
Club president Phil Grant said the extra race was due to the loss of the Allora Cup meeting late last year due to rain just as the meeting was about to start.
"We didn't get an extra meeting but we did get an extra race,” Grant said.
There are 57 nominations for the meeting on Saturday.
There are two local horses in the cup, Galway Town trained at Elbow Valley by Kellie Monckton and Duporche trained in Warwick by Mick Hemmings.
Trainer Rob Davidson's Air Diamond will be looking for three wins in a row having won at Kilcoy on December 3 and Esk on December 17. The mare has four wins, one second and one third in 25 starts and is trained at Sunshine Coast.
