Extra time decider delights Warwick netball finals fans
NETBALL CHAT with Renae O'Dea
WHAT an interesting night for Warwick netball with the preliminary finals. The A-grade game even ended up going into extra time.
Confro and Starbursts were the A-grade teams fighting for last position in the grand final. Both teams had a strong front and showed their domination on the court.
Being neck-in-neck in a game like this made it all that more important for the shooters to be as accurate as they could be. Turn overs are what both teams aim for.
For our extra time, we play two lots of five-minute halves. In this time there can be no changes in positions. Starbursts were able to get the lead early to win. This was an outstanding game to watch.
Lily stands out
LILY Maw was a stand-out for me in the A-grade game.
She has the ability to never give up and stretch for any ball. During the game, Lily was always there as a back up option for a pass. Watching her move around the court is great.
Having Lily's attitude on the court helps keeps everyone else's spirits high and makes them want to achieve. Well done Lily.
Flying high
HIGH Flyers are a great team who all have a strong passion for netball. You could see as soon as the girls hit the court in B grade they were determined to win. The shooting circle handled the pressure very well. Steph Lockhart and Sophie Otten work well together in the shooting circle.
These girls have learnt each other's style well and are able to show their determination.
Diamonds games
THE Australian Diamonds are at it again. It's great to see some games on TV.
Having a good mix up of girls is allowing them to use the bench players more often.
