Family affair for young entrant
WARWICK Miss Junior Showgirl entrant Becca Gimm is following in the footsteps of several family members.
One of Becca's cousins is currently involved with the Show and Rodeo society, while several members of her extended family have been involved in the show.
"I feel like shows run in our family," Becca said.
"I'm passionate about shows and have been going since I was little.
"My grandfather competes in the horticultural section at the Warwick Show every year and I've been helping him out since I was about five or six."
Becca, a Year 12 student at Warwick State High School said she wanted to get involved as a Miss Junior Showgirl entrant for other reasons too.
"I wanted to help out the show and this is a way to do it - we have to do fundraising and the money goes to the show," she said.
Becca will hold a sausage sizzle at IGA on Sunday, while she is currently planning some other events.
"It doesn't matter if I get the position or not," Becca said.
"I just want to raise money for the show and it's a good thing to put on the resume."
