Family needs your help
LIKE any other 11-year-old, Blake Zorzi loves being as active as possible and having fun with his friends... but Blake's circumstances are unique.
Blake has severe cerebral palsy and relies on his parents Kerry and Ray Zorzi for all his needs and Mrs Zorzi said Blake's condition had a huge effect on their lives.
"Blake is about to have a rod placed in his spine which is one of the most major operations which can be done on the human skeletal system," Mrs Zorzi said.
"Blake is very happy, bubbly and full of life but can't do the things an 11-year-old should be doing."
One of the biggest challenges Mrs Zorzi faces with Blake is transporting her son without a car specially modified to fit his wheelchair.
"Blake loves going for drives and outings but to transport him safely we need a modified vehicle which can easily fit his wheelchair," she said.
"We want to do some fundraising to buy the car and since moving back to Stanthorpe in December there are people who want to help make it happen for us."
Mrs Zorzi said there were several events in the pipeline but at this point she needed people to get involved at well as donate prizes and funds.
"I'd really like to get other kids in the community involved with helping to raise money for Blake," she said.
"We would be very grateful for any support and for more information people can contact me on 0439 281 149 or Jan Scopelliti on 0412 828 543."
