NO FURRY friends are being left behind these holidays, with travellers hunting out Rose City accommodation spots that will also house their beloved pets.

Warwick Visitor Information Centre supervisor Charee Aspinall said this year there was one question on everyone's lips - "Can I bring my dog?".

"We are fielding a lot of calls from people who want pet-friendly accommodation and I think it is because people just see their pets as part of the family," she said.

Mrs Aspinall said there were a number of businesses across the region that allowed pets on an application basis.

This holiday season has been all about the animals and the kids, with Mrs Aspinall saying families dominated the Southern Downs' visitor list.

"Visitation is up 5% on last year and we are extremely happy with that considering the current climate," she said.

"People are happy when they leave here because they get great service, the people are friendly and they say Warwick has a really great atmosphere."
