Fascinating fashion struts race day chic

THERE were colourful fascinators and quirky hats as far as the eye could see at the Warwick Cup over the weekend, with ladies going all-out for our biggest race day of the year.

The Fashions on the Field, sponsored by Brisbane Arcade, was a huge success and judge Dale Olssen said it was hard to pick a winner from all the fabulous contestants.

"The women in Warwick are very well presented," she said.

"There are examples of beautiful fashion here this afternoon, and it's definitely not easy for us to choose."

Margaret Osbourne from Buderim ended up taking out the top prize for the Classic category, and said she never expected to win.

"I wasn't going to enter but I'm pleased now that I took the chance," she said.

"Warwick is such a beautiful little town, it's my first time here and I love it."

Brisbane resident Tiana Iuvale won the Contemporary race wear category.

"I had a go just for the fun of it, winning was a total shock," she said.

Mrs Iuvale said she enjoyed planning an outfit for a special event.

"I love fashion and I love putting all the items together," she said.

"I usually plan my shoes and hat, and then start getting ideas the more I go into it.

"The hardest part is never really being sure if you have got it right."
