Sports Star dinner at Condamine

THE Condamine Sports Club will be the venue for the Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Junior Sports Star of the Year dinner on Monday, February 15.

Warwick Credit Union general manager John Brown will present the $500 first prize to the overall winner.

The Condamine Sports Club will give $250 to the Doc Bodimeade Memorial Encouragement Award winner.

Judges independent of the sponsors will determine the overall winner based on performances by each monthly winner in all sports in the 2009 calendar year.

A guest speaker is being arranged for the dinner.

The junior (under 18) and senior awards are open to residents of the former shires of Warwick, Inglewood and Clifton. Under new local government boundaries, nominations are encouraged from Warwick, Allora, Killarney, Clifton, Texas and Inglewood areas.

Nomination forms can be collected at any Warwick Credit Union branch or online at www.warwickcreditunion.com.au and close on the fifth of each month for the previous month.

As many sports are quiet for the first two months of the year, the first monthly winners for the year cover January and February.

Tickets for the February 15 dinner will go on sale next week at the Daily News with all ticket purchases to be by cash. More information from Gerard Walsh on 4660 1313 or gerardw@warwickdailynews.com.au
