Federal pollie top scores for his club team in cricket

CRICKET: Member for Maranoa David Littleproud is ready for any Politicians versus the Press cricket match in Canberra after scoring 65 for Inglewood in a Condamine Cup game on Saturday.

Playing at Allora, Inglewood batted first and scored 233.

Littleproud batted at No.7 and top scored with 65 and Garth Miller made 52.

Mick Kelk was the best of the Railway Hotel Rascals bowlers with 3-9 off two overs. Jamie Holmes took 3-25 off eight overs and James Moore 2-44 off five overs.

In reply, Rascals were bowled out for 112, Tom Morris top scoring with 39.

Jamien Smith furthered his claims for Warwick association player of the year with 4-24 off seven overs.

Nick Campbell was home over the holidays and took 3-32 for his old club to help steer the Roos to victory.

Littleproud has been Inglewood club president down the years and played for the team in both Goondiwindi and Warwick competitions. He has also been on the Warwick Cricket Association executive so is no stranger to Condamine Cup cricket.

He told the Daily News in the lead-up to the election, that if elected, he hoped to play the odd game with Inglewood in the Warwick competition.

The Member for Maranoa didn't promise he would top score but as they say "look in the scorebook”.
