Festive fun is easy as ABC
IT WAS a case of perfect timing when Good Start Early Learning Percy St centre director Jayne McConville booked the Leslie Park playground for their end-of-year Christmas party.
She didn't know at the time the party would coincide with the reopening of the playground across the road from the police station on Saturday after months of improvement work being done.
"It all worked out really well," she said.
Mrs McConville said she watched the skies with anticipation on Saturday, debating whether or not to move the party to the centre, but was relieved when the clouds cleared and the sun came out.
About 40 families converged on the park, with children running, jumping, swinging and twirling their way through the afternoon.
"It's great to get some time to socialise with the families outside of the centre," Mrs McConville said.
Youngster Harry March was too busy investigating the new fort to stop for too long to have his photo taken and three-year-old Blake Peters said climbing the ropes was his favourite thing to do at the playground.
