Final round in Super Hockey League tonight at Queens Park

HOCKEY: A penalty shoot-out could be needed tonight to decide the winner of the Condamine Sports Club Super League ladies hockey competition.

Chicks With Sticks beat She Devils 1-0 in the first game a month ago.

In round 2, the teams drew 2-all.

The rules for the competition do not provide for a countback so if She Devils win tonight, each side will have one win and a draw and a shoot-out will eventuate.

She Devils player Kerri Fitch said both teams would be close to full strength.

"Nat Webb is in doubt for our team with injury,” Fitch said.

"Sharon Williams is my cousin and is determined to score a goal against me if I end up as goalie. Lauren Eastwell and Sharon are two of the dangers to us in attack for Chicks With Sticks.

"The defence of the Chicks With Sticks team was strong last game with Jannita Oldham in outstanding form at fullback.”

Fitch said if Webb played, she would be a strong player for She Devils in attack along with Deb Rhodes.

"Emma Eastwell and Sian Hegarty will lead our team at the defensive end of the field.”

In the men's competition, the Warriors have won both games so far so the River Hawks will be playing for pride at 8pm tonight in the best of three series.

The Condamine Sports Club Super League is being played for a second time this season to give Warwick players stronger games than in the regular club competition.

In club hockey, two rounds remain before the semis on August 27 and grand finals on September 3.

The second and third-placed in men's and ladies will play in the semis for the right to play the minor premiers in the grand finals. Junior grand finals will also be played on September 3 with trophy presentations to follow.

The annual Warwick Hockey Association trophy night for the senior competitions will be at the Hawker Rd Function Centre on September 9. Trophy night tickets from club delegates.
