Finally at the big kid's school: Year 4 at St Mary's

IT WAS a case of the same school but different surroundings this morning as a whole batch of Year 4 students at St Mary's began at the school's upper campus.

Understandably excited to finally be at the "big kids” school Patrick Sharp said the Year 4 students had a chance to get a taste for the new campus late last year.

"We all came up here for a morning and had a look around,” he said.

"There's a lot more space to play and so many more handball courts.

"It's really exciting to finally be up here.”

Fellow student Olivia Groves said she was hoping it would be fun.

"I love learning and doing art,” she said.

"My sister Samantha starts prep today, she was so excited she woke me up at 4am this morning.”

Meghan Crothers said she couldn't sleep at all on Sunday night.

"It's great here, I get to hang out with my brother who is in Year 6,” she said.

"From his stories it sounds like so much more goes on up here.”

Thomas Albrand said he was looking forward to catching up with his friends and getting to play soccer on a much bigger field.

"It should be a really great experience here, both in class and at play,” he said.
