Finals action hotting up after fixtures in six touch grades
TOUCH: Designated Drinkers finished the fixture season on top of the Warwick Touch Association A-grade competition.
In week 1 of the finals, the side beat eighth-placed team Rose City Boxing Club.
At the end of fixtures, Designated Drinkers led Agrade on 30 points from Warriors and Live Action on 25 and The Brew Crew on 24.
Designated Drinkers are regular premiership winners but Warriors won the first season in 2017 and The Brew Crew won B grade in June.
In B grade, Bench Warmers were on top with 33 points from Dangerous Goods on 29.
Only three points split the first six in C grade. Cool Running led on 26 from The Electrolytes and Randoms on 25.
Sloth Running Team and Chillies were on 24 and Chunky Monkeys on 23.
In D grade, OTT led on 33 from Hi Viz Hotties on 25. Bottoms Up and Touch N Try were equal first in E grade on 29.
In the first F grade mixed competition played in Warwick, Untouchables were on 30 points with Young N Old on 24 after 11 games.
Warwick Touch Association has a record 48 teams in the second season in 2017 and 520 players.
After this week's games, four teams remain in each grade to battle for premiership honours.
The knockout semi final is on November 29 and grand finals on December 6.
The association is affiliated with the National Touch Rugby Association which gives players of all ages the chance to play for Queensland and Australia.
Ten Warwick players, Katie Grimmett, Peter Grayson, Dave Farlow, Geordie and Gavin Beckhouse, Michael Bell, Tanya Wright, Carlee O'Mara, Natasha Nolan and Mick Brackin all played for Queensland at Coffs Harbour in June with Grimmett, Bell, Wright and Gavin Beckhouse representing Australia in 2017.
