Finals campaign begins
TWO of the Warwick Wolves sides have made the cut for the Football Toowoomba first round of semi-finals to be contested this weekend.
The Colts will kick off proceedings on Friday night against USQ at Toara Park.
Coming off a 6-0 victory last weekend will give the boys a big boost of confidence.
The Colts players are not new to performing under pressure having won the mid-season President’s Cup which will have prepared them well for the challenge ahead.
They will need to win their first two finals matches to qualify for the grand final in a fortnight.
The senior reserves side has also made the final round after coming away from last weekend’s two games, with a draw against Rockville on Friday and a 7-0 win against Gatton on Sunday.
The team will head to Gatton on Sunday and face off against Rockville. Again, Warwick will need to win both of their lead up matches in order to make the grand finals.
Coaching staff are confident the side has what it takes to beat Rockville this weekend based on the performance in the late part of the season in which they had no losses in the final round of fixtures.
Nominations for futsal sides required by October 7. There will be junior mixed, senior mixed and A-grade fixtures held each week.
Nominate by contacting Jon Pearson 0448 603 860, Dom Benz 0407 376 013 or email the club wfda@live.com.au.
