Fine and sunny, rain on the way
IT is looking positive for those frocking up for the races today, with forecasts of sun and warm temperatures to last throughout the course of the day.
Meteorologist at Weather Zone Josh Fisher said the dry conditions should stick around all afternoon.
"It will actually be one of the warmest days of the week with a top of 30 degrees," Mr Fisher said.
It might be an idea to plan some inside activities for tomorrow, with showers and thunderstorms predicted for the public holiday.
Tomorrow should reach a top of 29 degrees and a low of 16 degrees.
Wednesday is expected to bring about a shower or two and Mr Fisher said it is due to the change in pressure.
"We'll see the low pressure trough come through which should bring with it 10-20mm of rain," he said.
Thursday and Friday will see a few showers but Mr Fisher assures there will be a bit of sun to soak up.
"There will be a few showers both days, but plenty of sunny breaks and a top of 27 degrees for Thursday and Friday," Mr Fisher said.
"This is a fairly typical weather pattern this time of year, with the average temperature being 28 degrees.
"We do however see these low pressures come through which trigger thunderstorms," he said.
