BOM says fine days ahead

AFTER a frosty weekend with below average temperatures, residents will welcome back the slightly warmer days this week.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Vikash Prasad said there would be plenty of fine days this week with only a slight chance of showers.

“Overall it is mostly fine for today, (tomorrow) and Thursday and a chance of a shower on Friday with cloudy periods,” Mr Prasad said.

“Over the weekend there is a chance of showers also.”

Mr Prasad said due to a moist south-easterly flow persisting in the region bringing moisture in the atmosphere the temperatures were not expected to go below zero this week.

Today will see a minimum of eight degrees and a maximum of 18 degrees, tomorrow will be a minimum of seven degrees and a maximum of 18 degrees.

The temperatures are just above the average minimum of five degrees this week and are on average for the maximum.

The coldest morning last week was -2 degrees on Saturday with only a maximum of 15 degrees.

Mr Prasad said overall it hasn’t been to far away from average so far this month and it was a big change from Sunday at minus one degrees to seven degrees yesterday.
