Finer days are ahead for Southern Downs

THE below-average temperatures are set to ease by the end of the week.

Weather forecaster for the Bureau of Meteorology Lauren Murphy said Warwick had been experiencing some unusual conditions.

"There is a firm ridge along the coast which is pushing wind towards the Southern Downs," Ms Murphy said.

"The wind is causing below average temperatures which will slowly increase as the week progresses.

"As the wind drops the moisture will increase which could bring showers later in the week."

Ms Murphy said the forecast for the weekend is looking fine.

"There may be some slight showers in certain parts of the region but the weather should be mostly fine," she said.

"There won't be much wind around so locals should look forward to getting out and enjoying the weather."
