Allo Harry! Mums are going mad for famed name

LOOK out for August in January.

The winter month is predicted to be one of the hottest names for baby boys next year, according to the online font of name knowledge, Nameberry.

Leading the forecast top 10 of popular monikers for boys in 2015 is Finn.

Runners up are expected to be Emmett, Silas, Hudson, Asher, Sawyer, August, Declan, Jasper and Ezra.

Nameberry expects Violet to move to the top of the pops for girls' names in 2015 while another name with a botanical twist, Ivy, backs up at number 10.

Stella and Aurora are expected to shoot into the top 10 of girls' names thanks to starry-eyed parents.

Also trending for girls' names in 2015 will be Adeline, Lila, Juliet, Beatrice, Elsa, and Cora, Nameberry says.

Parents of newborns at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, Buderim, are setting their own trend. Five newborn boys named Harry were in the maternity section at the same time last week.

Harry is more in keeping with what is described as a "hundred year return" trend in baby names.

The McCrindle Report identified a return to names from the early 20th century in 2014, although it did not specifically mention Harry.

The Harrys contributed to a total of 954 babies born at the hospital so far this year.

Another 110 are expected to be born in the remainder of the year to push the number to 1064, about 90 fewer than last year.
