Fire crews battle grass fire near Inglewood

SEVEN Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a large grass fire burning near the Cunningham Highway and Mosquito Creek Road, Coolmunda, near Inglewood.  

Fire crews are working to contain the blaze, which broke out around 1pm. There is no threat to homes at this time.  

Nearby residents may be affected by a large smoke haze and are urged to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.  

Motorists travelling in the area, approximately 12 kilometres east of Inglewood on the Cunningham Highway, should drive with caution and to conditions.
