Fire crews say 400 hectares burnt in big grass fire

A LARGE grass fire continues to burn at Elbow Valley after already burning about 400 hectares of land.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said crews were called to the scene on Cullendore Rd about 7.30pm last night.

But eyewitnesses reportedly said the fire had been burning since about mid-afternoon yesterday.

The spokeswoman said crews took care of trees that had fallen across the road and are monitoring the blaze, but no property is under threat.

Crews will continue to monitor the fire today.
