Fire on side of railway

QUICK action from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished fires on each side of the railway line just west of Warwick yesterday.

The 000 call was to a fire at 1.28pm and then at 1.46pm.

Two crews from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service Warwick station put the fires out.

One nearby resident reported hearing a bang and then noticing the fire.

The fire action was further south later when a fire was started by a mower at 5.35pm yesterday in Schumann Lane, Thulimbah.

One Rural Fire Brigade crew was on hand at 6.15pm and two more were in transit.

While no property was under threat, a spokeswoman for the service said the crew was being sent to the fire to ensure it did not reach nearby bushland.
