Firefighters called to clean up fuel spill on Bruce Hwy

EMERGENCY services crews have cleaned up a fuel spill about 15km south of Childers.

Crews were called to the scene after a fuel tank on a semi-trailer began to leak leaving a trail of fuel for about 500 metres.

Childers firefighters were called to the scene about 8.15am to clean up the spill from the damaged truck near Barretts Rd.

The road was closed while crews cleaned up the spill.

The highway has reopened and traffic is going through the area at a reduced speed.
