Firefighters contain blaze on the Cunningham Highway

UPDATE 2.30pm: Firefighters have managed to extinguish a fire that started next to the Cunningham Highway this afternoon.

One crew responded to the scene at Rosenthal Heights, west of Warwick, about 1.10pm after a passer-by reported the fire.

A spokesman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said the fire was about 60m long by 3m wide and firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading any further.

The crew had extinguished the flames by about 1.45pm.

The spokesman said no property was damaged in the fire and no one was injured.

INITIAL 1.30pm: A fire crew is currently working to extinguish a vegetation fire that started next to the Cunningham Highway.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said the crew was called to the scene at Rosenthal Heights, west of Warwick, about 1.10pm.

The fire is currently about 60m long and 3m wide, no property is believed to be under threat at this stage.
