Firefighters on two QFES units from the Warwick station were damping down the edge of the fire at 4.50pm on the Ogilvie Rd side to keep it within containment lines.

There were people from Warwick Golf Club on scene for the controlled burn and to ensure it is kept within containment lines.

EARLIER: TWO Queensland Fire and Emergency Service units are on the way to a fire on the northern outskirts of Warwick.

Some residents reported smoke from the area this morning but the QFES confirmed it was a controlled burn.

The two fire units headed to the Warwick Golf Club at 4.30pm with sirens on.

A spokeswoman from the QFES said the units and crews were going to the fire but they understood it was another burnoff at the Warwick Golf Club and there was no need for concern.
