Firies rescue woman trapped in car on Cunningham Highway

FIREFIGHTERS used cutting equipment to free a woman from the driver's seat of her car that was smashed in a two-vehicle collision on the corner of Albion and Victoria St this afternoon.

Two women, who looked to be middle-aged, are in a stable condition after one driver failed to give way at the intersection around 5.20pm.

The driver was turning right onto Victoria St and failed to give way to a woman travelling north on the highway.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and used cutting equipment to free one driver, whose door was damaged in the crash and was unable to be opened.

The woman who was freed was treated for minor injuries.

Warwick police Sergeant Shane Reid said police had not yet laid charges, but intended to.
