FIRST LOOK: Priceline Pharmacy opens its doors
ABOUT 20 eager shoppers were waiting to get the first glimpse inside Priceline Pharmacy today and they were not disappointed.
The doors opened to reveal a bright, modern store filled with new health and beauty brands as well as some cool gadgets.
Big name beauty products line the outskirts of the store, including brands such as Nude By Nature, Rimmel, Australis, NYX and Models Prefer Collection.
Owen Pharmacy Group regional manager Chris Owen said innovative technology was also incorporated into the store.
A health check robot sits opposite the dispensary, enabling customers to check their own blood pressure, weight and diabetes risk.
Another robot automatically selects medications when prescriptions are scanned by pharmacists.
"It takes up less space and is more accurate," Mr Owen said.
The store also has a private room designed for vaccinations and female health check ups.
Mr Owen said there was cake and the cutting of a ribbon to celebrate the opening.
"It's really great to see everyone coming and supporting the store," he said.
"We've been involved in the Warwick community for over 10 years and now the John Duggan name lives on."
The store is the latest addition to the centre, joining Bed Bath N' Table and a new-look The Reject Shop, which both opened in the last week.
Priceline Pharmacy replaces John Duggan Chemist, which closed at the centre in October.
Mr Owen said yesterday was the first time he'd seen the new store complete.
"It's very professional, clean and modern," he said.
"Even to the point of the signage out the front, it's got very good impact and the uniforms look snazzy."
"The whole shop design is getting health back in focus."
Warwick shopper Annette Sinclair was impressed by the new store.
"The perfumes are nice with a nice display," she said.
"It's probably going to have a bit more range."
A medical centre will also be opening behind the new pharmacy, scheduled to be revealed on January 15.
