Five charged as police raid homes

FIVE people were handed their first drug charges when four homes were raided for drugs at the weekend.

Following a big bust on Friday, Clifton police, with assistance from the Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch and Allora police officers, carried out search warrants on Saturday morning, which were a result of weeks of investigations.

Clifton police senior constable Greg Burton said the search warrants came from confidential information received through the public, as well as from police intelligence.

The first home police searched was along Gammie St, where a 57-year-old Clifton male was located with a small quantity of cannabis and smoking utensils.

A 30-year-old Clifton male was next to be charged, when he was located with a small amount of marijuana and smoking utensils at his home on Clifton-Leyburn Rd.

A 46-year-old Clifton female and male juvenile were next to have their home on Tooth St searched, and were located with similar items.

A George St home was the last to be searched, where an 18-year-old was located with utensils, but with no drugs.

All five people co-operated with police during the search warrants, some even helping show them where the cannabis was stashed.

All were charged with drug diversions and will attend a drug program.

Anyone with any drug information is urged to contact Clifton police on 4697 3120 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
